The designations of most SKF rolling bear-
ings follow a designation system. The com-
plete bearing designation may consist of a
basic designation with or without one or
more supplementary preixes and sufixes
(diagram 1). The basic designation Bearing basics
identiies:

• the bearing type
• the basic design
• the boundary dimensions A.1

Preixes and sufixes identify design features
